Really cool and uncommon pseudomorph piece from Puerto de Luna, NM! This incredible specimen is a little over a pound and is 4 x 3 x 2 inches!
Puerto de Luna (Guadalupe County): Mineral specimens from this area include aragonite pseudomorphs—where the aragonite has been replaced by calcite or another mineral while retaining its original shape. X-ray analysis has confirmed some of these formations retain the pseudo-hexagonal form of aragonite but are now composed of calcite.
