This is a beautiful piece of studio art pottery by Steven Forbes-deSoule. It’s a brutalist raku freeform footed tray. The glaze is a strong metallic copper over turquoise with rough crimped edges. When I look at it, I see a cattle dog head, my husband turns it and sees a fish. No matter what the shape is meant to be, it’s masterfully done. There is surface roughness and tool marks, which are original to the piece and deliberate. The piece is signed. It came out of the estate collection of a listed Atlanta area artist. The piece is about 10” at its longest point and 8” at the widest point. It will be double boxed and insured.
All goods are sanitized, washed and dried and stored in dry, scent free containers.
