Beautiful vintage Royal Swan Co. Ltd. oval serving platter, hand-painted in Staffordshire, England. This piece likely dates from the 1940s–1960s, a period when Royal Swan (a trade name of Shore & Coggins Ltd., a well-known Staffordshire pottery firm) produced charming tableware and decorative ceramics.
It is hand-signed “Jean W. Marchant”, indicating decorator or artist involvement, which adds uniqueness and collector appeal.
The backstamp with crown and “Made in England” mark is consistent with mid-20th-century English pottery. Light age-appropriate crazing is visible, including one glaze line across the surface (not a structural crack). No chips or breaks.
This platter measures 10” long by 6” Its age and provenance make it a lovely addition to any vintage English pottery or floral china collection.
